Water softeners need to be monitored to make sure they are working at maximum effeminacy. Water hardness in the incoming water supply can change due to municipal water treatment, seasonal changes due to rain and snow melt, and other factors. Often, you must make an adjustment to the softener setting to ensure you get soft water in between regeneration cycles. The only way to to know the condition of your water and water softener is to test. We include our own Guide to Soft Water with steps to test and adjust your water softener. You can do it yourself with the guide. We're life-long water filtration specialists based in the US and have helped thousands of people test and adjust their water softener. These test kits are quality-tested in our US water quality lab . Ships from the US. Kits are fresh with a two-year shelf life. Water hardness is the level of calcium and magnesium in your water. Hard water causes spots on dishware, shower doors, cars, etc. It builds up inside water heaters and causes early malfunctions and leaks. It also damages coffee makers and other water-using appliances. A water softener will remove hardness if it is working properly. The only way to know if your softener is working or dialed in, is with hardness test strips. Simply dip the strip in the water and compare to the chart. If the strip does not change color, the water is soft. The closest color match is your hardness level. Why pay a pro to do what you can do with this test kit? They use these test strips too! These strips come in a sealed jar. Keep wet fingers OUT of the jar. The strips will have a shelf life of 24 months. Our test kits will ALWAYS be fresh!
