Kinetico Water Softener Problems Fixed Kinetico water softener problems can happen when sections of the Kinetico water softener control head breaks down. Parts inside the head such as the control valve which has two very important seals. The quad ring seal, and the taper seal, these are prone to wearing out. This also applies to the drain valve seals. The Kinetico drain valves have similar problems where they can wear on four edges. Another problem can happen when the Kinetico main piston seals wear on four edges, these are hidden seals which often get overlooked. The balance piston seal can cause problems too. The very small advance seal located on the Kinetico actuator is particularly prone to wearing out. Generally, all the parts of the Kinetico need to work together to form a whole. The Kinetico pawl set, Kinetico control disk and Kinetico water meter disk must also be in perfect condition. Brine tank resin can last up to 30 years, but needs to be good. Kinetico resin is installed in both the main tank and the remote tank. For best performance it is recommended to fit Kinetico resin. Resin is not generally a problem on the Kinetico, as 99% of all faults are linked with worn, non functioning seals. Kinetico level one, has the most complex parts. This Kinetico level has the gears, the control disk, and the meter disk. The pawl set is located on this level, as is the balance piston and DO cap. We show how to check this level. Kinetico level two has the vent tube and the brine flow control, the brine flow control  can get blocked. Kinetico level three has the venturi throat and the throat on this part of the Kinetico must be clear and perfect. We explain how to do this. Kinetico level four contains the main Kinetico piston flat seals and quad rings. Also, this level has the Kinetico control valve and quad rings, and of course the taper seal sets. In addition, there is the Kinetico backwash flow control. This need to be clear and clean. Kinetico level five has the drain valves and quad rings. The Kinetico  five level has the Kinetico interlock and the cut outs for the Kinetico check stems. Older versions have the small blue Kinetico balls that do the same job, to stop back flow in the system. Kinetico level six has the Kinetico check stems, and the Kinetico upper distributor. The entire head is attached to the main Kinetico resin bottle by a large thread and immediately below that the upper distributor. The Kinetico seals involved in keeping this softener working are many, and only one Kinetico seal needs to be faulty to cause everything to fail.
